Ciara leaned back and smirked. ââ¬Å"Did you not eat supper, Thom?â⬠He laughed, ââ¬Å"It was a choice between eating or bathing. Call it presumptuous of me.â⬠ââ¬Å"Very,â⬠she said before walking over to her corner study. When she returned, she carried an apple. She held it out to him in the palm of her hand. He smiled, ââ¬Å"I am sensing a pattern here, my Lady.â⬠ââ¬Å"Call it symbolic.â⬠She fluttered her eyelashes, the glare from the fire glinting in her amber eyes. ââ¬Å"Maybe of where we came from. Where weââ¬â¢re going.â⬠He took the apple and bit into it heartily, juice dripped on to his beard from the sweet, crisp flesh. ââ¬Å"And where are we going, my Lady?â⬠He asked between bites before taking one last chunk of flesh and placing the core on the mantle. She grabbed his hand and led him wordlessly towards the bed. ââ¬Å"Well I--â⬠he managed to stutter before she placed her finger on his lips and then to her own tasting the apple juice recovered with her tongue. He stood with his knees against the soft edge of the bed. Ciara threw the plump Orlesian pillows to the side and kneeled on the bed facing him. She ran her hand down his torso to the waistband of his pants. She tugged at the fastenings until they came loose.
